Contact us
Email support@courierapp.org. Please tell us what you were doing, which screen you were on, the exact wording of any error, and the build number shown in TestFlight.
Please do not send sign-in codes, authenticator codes, PINs, private keys, real sensitive content or another person's personal information.
Common questions
I cannot enroll.
Courier is a closed pilot. Only email addresses approved by the pilot administrator can enroll, and a new person also needs the administrator's activation. If your address has not been approved, write to us and we will pass it on.
My sign-in code did not arrive.
Check your spam folder, and make sure you entered the address the administrator approved. Codes expire, so ask for a new one if some time has passed.
My first message stays on "Sent".
This is expected. The first message you ever send someone is held at their end until they accept it under Requests to write to you on the Messages screen. You are not told either way, so that somebody writing to a stranger's address cannot learn whether anyone is there. Once it is accepted, everything after goes straight through.
Courier says a safety number changed.
This can be normal after an approved re-enrollment, but it is also what an interception attempt looks like. Do not clear the warning until you have compared the new number with your contact in person or by another channel you already trust.
I set a disappearing-message timer. Is everything deleted?
The timer clears the copies on the phones. It does not delete the separate encrypted records copy that Courier files for the pilot's records function. See the privacy policy.
Why can I not take a screenshot?
Courier blocks screen capture on purpose, because it is a secure messenger.
Reporting a security problem
If the app exposes message content outside Courier, an identity appears to have changed, or you find a way around one of its controls, stop testing and email support@courierapp.org.
